September 2026

Spoiler free

Not my best month, but at least I found something truly impressive that made me want to try out more modern visual novels, which I tend to avoid. Let's start.

Dimension Totsu lovers

Room that is impossible to leave without having sex

2026 eroge title by Crystallia. I stubbornly ignored it, because it seemed like an average overhyped story. I'd like to apologize to the developers, because it is kino. It might be the most entertaining visual novel I've read so far. There's just nothing quite like it, despite the fact that it doesn't really invent anything new. Totsuraba combines the features of both charage and chuunige in a balanced fashion, and that is already quite an achievement. Whole cast gets put to good use, even the side characters. Antagonists have some serious charisma too, especially protagonist's father.

What people don't mention often is that the soundtrack is pretty fire too — some of the battle OST has been stuck in my head for days, like this one:

Your browser does not support the audio element.

Now about the bad. Pacing is sometimes too good (笑) (too fast), plot is often reliant on conveniences, and the true route is disappointing (some people say it's a 神 route tho).:spoiler[Someone might say that the main problem of this route is that it is underdeveloped, but I strongly disagree, because it was doomed from the very beginning. My main problem with true route is that it's way too easy on protagonist. He gets a full "completion guide" from parallel world Katan, which allows him to easily convince all the antagonists to join his side. Then Katan conveniently gets a super power up from parallel self. Enju's willingness to abandon everyone at the end is out of character. Every fight in true route is nothing burger, no feeling of danger at all.]

There's also another reason I'm hyping this up so much. H-scenes. They're fucking awesome. Femdom h-scenes in a mainstream VN aren't something you see often, if ever, so it was a pleasant surprise. The heroines are pretty hot and interesting, so I was excited every time I entered a new route.

Also, there is a certain scene in Katan route that literally gave me goosebumps.:spoiler[the scene where Katan and Enju turn themselves into platinum, to beat the infinity is insane. This is kinda like death if you think about it.]

Click to reveal spoiler

Sometimes all you need from eroge are cute heroines and grand developments, and not deep themes or grand prose. Hopefully we will get a fandisc, because there are tons of questions left without answers.:spoiler[Does Kaede reunite with his friend? Did Le brun free his little sister? What happened to Katan route's world after true ending? Katan said helping Enju would also save their world, but it is unclear how exactly is that possible. Afterstory with branching routes wouldn't be redundant either.]

I praise this one a lot, but in the end, does totsuraba deserve 88/100 on erogamescape? No, it's not even close to the real giants of the genre. This is not a kind of work that will change your life, nor will it make you impressed by a cohesive scenario. Perhaps such a strong reception of totsuraba in japanese community is an indicator of bishoujo eroge industry's steady decline. Still, I can safely recommend this visual novel to all readers because of its entertaining value.

Saiaku Naru Saiyaku Ningen Ni Sasasagu

Sasasagu finally got a Steam release (which is also a remake). It's my favorite visual novel right now, so I was eagerly waiting for this release. I've already written a review you can read here. It is a long, coming of age story with exceptional direction and writing. The premise is strong: main character is a kid who lost the ability to see or hear any living creature, while the main heroine is a young girl who can't be perceived by anyone alive. It is a story about them saving each other from loneliness, but hurting each other due to the unnatural situation they end up in. Despite the fact that it is a slow burn, there is not a single redundant scene. Also the message about life in despair (or life with chronic disease) is exceptionally strong. Everyone who knows Japanese should read it.

The Steam release has a new afterstory, and overall I'm very satisfied with what we got. To be fair, :spoiler[I expected true ending's Kuro to get an afterstory too, but it would be hard to implement without ruining the ending, so I can overlook it. Every afterstory was well written, but the best thing about them are the endings. I didn't cry, but I could have — the tears were welling up, I swear. I also cried many times reading the main story, so my tears had already dried up. Let's move on...]
I haven't reread the game to see all the new CGs and changes, so I'll just state my opinion on the art style. It's not better than the old one. Yes, it's more polished, and they fixed some weird CGs, but new readers probably won't mind it — still, the fact that Kuro's eyes no longer shine like brilliants is a crime.

New CG looks very good, I admit it

I'd advise reading the fan port of the game first, then skimming through the Steam version for the new CGs and afterstories.

Meidokissa

It's a nukige. The other VN from this developer is "Mainichi ga M!", which is the best nukige ever, hence why I had high expectations going into this one. Meidokissa takes a classic approach: protagonist lives with 4 heroines, and player should choose which heroine should he visit to get on her route. It definitely took many elements from Mainichi ga M — like the shitty animation for every h-scene, the overuse of the phrase 短小包茎ちんぽ — but what it doesn't have is any kind of plot. Or good heroines. Or good h-scenes. It's beyond "bad" in terms of plot. Everything works in favor of protagonist, characters are nothing more than his slaves. Also, all the characters are stupid beyond belief.

I'll just make example of a scene from this VN, so you would understand just how absurd it is: Protagonist finds his grandpa's notebook. That notebook has a recipe for a cold drink. Protagonist makes the drink, drinks it in front of all heroines... And then a heroine reads the notebook's contents aloud. Apparently it is deadly, and the only antidote is ammonia. The only good thing that contains ammonia is urine. You would think protagonist will drink heroine's urine, but... The onee-san kind of heroine brings a cup to protagonist's penis, he pisses inside, and then protagonist drinks his own urine in front of everyone, feeling humiliated. Then it turns out that notebook was filled with grandpa's delusions and he didn't need to drink urine.

Basically it's a story about a guy fucking his nieces, who also bully him for having a small dick... despite the fact that he has an average, normal dick. They say his dick is 10 or 12 cm, but it just looks like a normal dick. WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH IT? It breaks the immersion, because I want to imagine I have a small dick, but I CAN'T. I skimmed through most of the routes once I realized it's slop, and I'm glad I didn't waste my time reading all of them.
Only tsundere route was worth reading, since it at least resembled femdom, but it just doesn't reach the highs of mainichi ga M. It's not worth reading unless you are hunting for soft femdom content.

Conclusion

I think this new monthly format is pretty convenient, so I'll keep using it. I could probably do with more off-topic posts, but nothing came to mind, so I didn't post anything lately. I don't plan on abandoning the blog, I promise. Thanks for the reading.

Rakuen ~Ai Kawarazu na Boku. no Baai~ — Review

Spoiler free

Product of the bygone era of golden age, when everyone were experimenting and trying to reach the success in the new chaotic market. The manifestation of people knowing they're doomed to fail, but still giving it their all. This visual novel is interesting both as a history artifact and a story. Rakuen is a galge released in 2004 by Terralune, and it's also a work that turned out to be the last produced by them. Most of the staff never worked on eroge ever again. This is very noticable in the work, since it's unusually self-aware. I'll say it in front, it's not a story for everyone. It doesn't always have good writing, and there are some rage inducing moments that you wouldn't see in any typical charage. But it is worth trying out if you like the artstyle and comedy focused stories. It's a good comedy with a style.

Story

Protagonist whose name is literally 僕 (Boku) is a failure, 'ronin', who is repeating a year at preparatory school for univeristy exams. He starts working at an eroge company as an artist, while living with his two little sisters. The plot in this VN is pretty thin, mostly it's focused on interactions between the characters, self-deprecatory humor, and some melodrama in the routes (that are pretty short). I'm not sure if I disliked the fact that there isn't enough "plot", or that authors tried to do it at all. And where there is "plot", it's either underdeveloped, poorly written, or bland. In my opinion, Rakuen is more moege leaning, so this isn't such a big problem though—you're mainly reading this for the romance and the comedy.

The style. ROCK.

This work has a very unconventional artstyle, music and prose. Perhaps that is the reason why it was the last work from Terralune, but that's beside the point. Music is simply amazing. The whole soundtrack consists of energetic american rock tracks that, combined with atmosphere of sweaty otakus and corporate sloppiness, makes the reader feel dirty and very immersed. There is also a melancholic track that I like a lot, it reminds me of welcome to NHK.

classic examples of OST

Spealikng of the devil—rakuen is surprisingly similar to anime/novel Welcome to NHK. Not in the story, but in the atmosphere. Humor is kind of similar, although Rakuen's one is much more sexual and incest leaning, the city is similar, the "author's self-insert" aspect is strong in either works.
I forgot to say, the direction in rakuen is awesome, and very unique. Mainly I'm talking about the placement of text, sprites for comedic effect. Sometimes they will use manga style text boxes to convey just how miserable is the mood in the office, sometimes there are random text covering the whole screen that flashes so fast it's impossible to read... Imagine monogatari but in a visual novel form - that's basically it.

The artstyle is cute. Some people will probably think it's dated, but as someone who values uniqueness, I was very satisfied. Although the fact that artist is amateur is very telling - CGs with unusual perspective always have weird proportions, but it's a 2000s VNs so it's something we all are used to.

The prose is also one of the stands out in this VN. It's highly energetic, has a lot of puns, references to all kinds media and events, with short sentenceses and great comedic timings. I noticed it has a lot of emojis which I never have seen in any other VN. It's not particularly hard to read, but it took me quite some time to get used to. Also I white-noised a lot of jokes.

Characters!!! and their routes....

The cast is simply amazing. Pretty much everyone is fun to watch, excluding one heroine. Protagonist is a classic Tsukkomi kind of person who also likes to do Boke, and he's an absolute failure. he's a kind of person who can fail entrance exams 3 times, won't wash for a week, and is a huge eroge addict. Personally I liked him a lot, and the fact that you can always see his portrait on the screen makes dialogues feel even more alive. I wish more VNs did this.

My personal standout is Mishiba senpai. Yes, the character on my pfp. She's Boku's coworker who colors his CGs. Mishiba is extremely energetic, violent loli, who is very serious about eroge—she almost doesn't come home, and tends to neglect herself to the point of almost dying in her work place. Her route is not the best one, but still satisfying. There is a certain moment where protagonist does very bad thing that felt very out of place, and the way the route's drama's is solved is a classic deus ex machina, but at it's core it is about the desire to finish something despite all the struggles, the unity of ヲタク souls, meaning in meaningless piece of art.

An's route is very underdeveloped and cliched. She's a little sister who "comforts" protagonist when he burns out from working, and that's it. Yes that's the whole plot. Heroine is self is cute, but come on.

Now we have come to Sae's route. First of all, she has a dialogue that is the best one is the whole game. Basically it's about the essense of visual novels, here:
Your browser does not support the video tag.
but ignoring this diaglouge, her route is the main problem of this VN as a whole. Her character is the problem. Because her route is focused on... <details>

spoiler

NTR. Oh boy. Even if you enjoy NTR, there are no h-scenes like that, it's just pure humiliation. Sae felt lonely, and protagonist didn't respond to her calls, so she decided to give her first time to her mexican friend. After that she immediatly comes up to protag, he forgives her, and he immideatly fucks her to "make her forget" that mexican guy. During h-scene Sae says that protagonist's dick is smaller than Mexican's, that he was better at sex etc., but since she loves protagonist this sex is better. Alright.

</details> This was just horrible. Writer was aware that this is not a kind of thing average reader would enjoy, hence why there are two endings - one where this element (and plot) didn't happen at all, and other where this element happened but still the happy ending in the end. Let's just move forward...

Aki's route is pretty interesting. Second twin sister who tries to be a voice actor so that she can get along better with protagonist. This route is pretty realistic, it shows how studios and market kill the talent of young workers.

At last, Miki's route. The paradise. In my opinion, it's the core of the game, hence it should be played as the last. Miki is protagonist's rival artist who works in a different company, but I'm glad the route wasn't focused on this aspect. I don't want to spoil it, but I'll just say it's the route that represents the ideals and story of the developer Terralune.

Conclusion

Rakuen was close to becomeing a masterpiece, but the routes were too underwhelming; and yet it is the best charage I have yet to read. It's just a very funny story that will appeal to veteran otaku's and meta kind of stories. It's a shame we don't get works like this anymore, but perhaps that is why it is so special.

Nukige recommendations

Important!

What's the point of reading nukige? There was a time when I couldn't understand why someone would read a bloated 10-hour-long porn game where you have to wait an hour to reach the actual deal, when doujinshi provide all the meat in the first minute. Well, there are many reasons why this medium is so good for porn, but the main one is that it's simply more immersive. The power of prose, so to speak. Voices and animations enhance the experience a lot, but the text is the core. There is not a single NTR doujin that hits as hard as an NTR visual novel where you spend 5 hours romancing your waifu just for an ugly bastard to steal her.

Anyway, today I will showcase the 5 best visual novels I have played. They're all very different in terms of fetishes, but I feel there is at least one VN here that someone will enjoy. My favorite one will be at the end. Note that most of them are untranslated. Let's start.

Seven Days: Mishiranu JK to Misshitsu Seikatsu

Debut work released in 2025 by independent developer Pome-ya. An ojisan and a high schooler. A mysterious room with no way out. A weird chibi girl giving out the orders. The premise is standard, but that's why it works. The relationship between the main characters develops very organically despite the relatively short run time (~4 hours). The plot/ecchi balance is extremely solid, and there is even some decent plot that keeps you motivated to read further.

Another thing I want to mention is the style: a monochrome art style with lo-fi music, simplistic UI, and a bit of casual gameplay. It's just a very enjoyable VN to read from start to finish.

In terms of H-scenes, I'd say it's solid. There is a urination fetish, a lot of humiliation, and cute reactions from the heroine. Personally, I'm not a fan of massive breasts, but the heroine has a certain charm anyway, so I didn't mind.

Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind unvoiced VNs and wants something with more substance than just pure porn.

Makai Tenshi Djibril 4

Now we're talking about something spicy. I haven't read the other visual novels in this series, but Djibril 4 is completely standalone, so it doesn't matter. It's a henshin/magical girl parody with a focus on harem... and NTR. Yes, both. Surprisingly, it doesn't feel jarring since the atmosphere is overall lighthearted, and while the amount of NTR isn't small, it's mostly optional. The plot revolves around the protagonist and his three friends fighting against demons who want to force everyone to have sex. Don't question it.

Since it's a henshin story, the structure is very episodic: a mesugaki demon and her friend cause trouble, the heroines try to save the day, walk into a trap, and get assaulted in the bad ending. After each arc, there is a screen where you can choose which H-scene you want to view right away.

The heroines are fine, except for Aoi—the cute, black-haired tsundere featured in that footjob CG (extremely moe). Her NTR scenes are exceptionally hot. For some reason, most of them focus on her swallowing semen and giving blowjobs. I can totally see why the devs went that route. Aoi alone is reason enough to read this game.

Bishoujo Mangekyou -Norowareshi Densetsu no Shoujo-

Everyone knows the Biman series, but I still have to mention it. In my opinion, Biman 1 is the ultimate "baby's first nukige." It features some of the best art in the entire genre, animated H-scenes, a cute tsundere heroine, and a simple yet engaging story. The ecchi scenes are mostly focused on vanilla sex, with just a hint of femdom. The protagonist is unhinged, so self-inserting is tough, but this is the kind of twisted romance you should observe from a distance anyway.

Mainichi ga M!

A hidden gem and quite possibly the best nukige ever made—though it won't appeal to 99% of eroge fans. It's a pure masochistic VN from 2008: fully voiced, animated in every scene, and roughly 20 hours long. The plot revolves around high schoolers mercilessly bullying you (the teacher) every day for having a small, phimotic dick. If you're expecting gentle femdom... turn back now. It's a lighthearted bakage on the surface, but some scenes will test the gag reflex of even the most battle-hardened degenerates.

18+ gif. No, there is no gore in this VN, don't worry.

</details>

The reason I love this title is simple: femdom is my favorite fetish. Always has been, always will be. This game covers every flavor of domination imaginable, tailored to each heroine. Let's break down the cast so you know what you're walking into.

Yurina: The biggest bully of the main cast. She doesn't particularly like the MC, even on her own route, but that's the core of her appeal. Yurina excels at humiliating the protagonist in front of the rest of the class.

dialogues are very cringe sometimes

Honoka: Cold emotionless girl who loves bulliying. Her route was pretty good, but one of the endings is fucked up. I feel like the idea of :spoiler[protag being castrated] is ok for this kind of work, but at the same time the execution is lame. Developers new if they made it serious, half the readers would drop the game, but then I have a question: what's the point of making such ending at all? Anyway Honoka is alright.

Mao: Sweet girl who has a fetish for small pp. Her route is the only one that has a proper romance, thought they did her a bit dirty.
In the end mainchi ga M is a very risky project with relatively high budget, that probably failed miserably, but we got a work like no other, that doesn't have absolutely horrible prose or doujin level art. Strogly recommend.

Conclusion

I wanted to add more hidden gems in this list, but I know the chance of this site being nuked would grow exponentially so I didn't risk it. Nukige is life.

I'm not sure what kind of posts will I do here yet, but the main direction is visual novel reviews or thought dumps.

I used to use discord as a place where I can dump random thoughts, notes, screenshots, etc. in dedicated personal server, but this method is flawed since eventually server will be lost in time or my account will be banned. That's why I will try to use this site from now on.

Obviously, this won't be a full replacement. It will be more like a cleaned up version, stand out screenshots or videos and anlysis, reviews, whatever. No one will read it, but it's still gonna be useful for me since I like to reminiscence :spoiler[waste time] over my experience with VNs.

よろしくお願いいたします。
